25th Anniversary
1985-2010

Lowell Tyde, club mascot

Incorporated in 1985, the Hackensack River Canoe & Kayak Club encourages canoeing and kayaking with a positive social experience while fostering a spirit of respect and conservation toward our rivers and lakes.

Most of our trips take place in NJ, southern NY, western CT and eastern PA.  Although longer trips take place farther afield.

Fat Elmo speaks!Founded by a handful of paddlers to promote the conservation of the Hackensack River and Meadowlands through paddling, membership has grown to over 400 and activities stretch across several states.

Annual dues are $15 for individuals and $25 for families.  Membership is open to all.  Although the club does not have boats for rent, those without boats may be able to make use of a livery service for some trips.

Meetings are held at the Paramus, NJ Elks Club the first Tuesday of every month at 7 PM.  All are welcome.  Stop in to check us out!

The Paramus Elks Club is located behind Raymour & Flanagan at 200 Rt. 17 North in Paramus, one mile north of Rt. 4; a half mile north of Century Road. It is immediately past Paramus Chevrolet Auto Mall. If you miss R&F's driveway, you can park in Ramsey Outdoor Store's parking lot and walk. Click here for Google map & driving directions.
