Incorporated in 1985, the Hackensack River Canoe & Kayak Club encourages canoeing and kayaking with a positive social experience while fostering a spirit of respect and conservation toward our rivers and lakes.

Most of our trips take place in NJ, southern NY, western CT and eastern PA.  Although longer trips take place farther afield.

Fat Elmo speaks!Founded by a handful of paddlers to promote the conservation of the Hackensack River and Meadowlands through paddling, membership has grown to over 400 and activities stretch across several states.

Annual dues are $15 for individuals and $25 for families.  Membership is open to all.  Those without boats are paired with tandem paddlers looking for a partner or directed to a livery service.

Meetings are held at the River Edge, NJ American Legion Post the last Tuesday of every month, except December, at 7 PM.  All are welcome.  Stop in to check us out!  Click here for a map and driving directions.
